Terms and Conditions

1. Charges and Payment

We charge an hourly rate with a minimum call-out charge of one hour. Should the work extend beyond the initial hour, subsequent time will be charged in half-hour increments. Travel time to obtain materials may be charged up to a maximum of one hour.

All invoices are payable in full upon completion via debit/credit card or bank transfer. A monthly interest rate of 4% will be applied to any outstanding balances.

2. Quotations

Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. If the customer postpones the start of installation by one month or more after Gasworks is ready to proceed, the quotation may no longer be valid, and a revised quote may be required.

3. Materials and Handling Fee

A 25% handling fee applies to all materials purchased by Gasworks on behalf of the customer. This fee covers administrative and procurement costs.

If the customer supplies materials, they accept responsibility for missing parts or faults. Additional labour time caused by supplied materials will be charged accordingly.

4. Asbestos and Hazardous Materials

If asbestos or any hazardous substances are discovered during the work, Gasworks will comply with all relevant local and national regulations before continuing. Additional charges may apply for the handling or mitigation of such materials. Should hazardous materials remain in place, the customer assumes responsibility for ensuring the safety of the working area.

5. Permissions and Licenses

The customer must obtain all necessary permissions, licenses, and consents, including those from landlords or local authorities, prior to commencement of work. Gasworks accepts no liability if these are not in place.

6. Liability and Damage

Gasworks is not responsible for inherent defects in boilers, heating systems, or components. We cannot accept liability for damage to decorations, fittings, existing pipework, cylinders, or tanks caused during installation or removal of fixtures.

Power flushing and other cleaning processes, while effective, are not guaranteed to clear blockages, and we cannot be held responsible for leaks, airlocks, or blockages that may occur afterward.

We take every precaution when removing floor coverings but accept no liability for damage to carpets, wooden floorboards, or similar surfaces.

7. Unforeseen Circumstances

Unforeseen issues discovered during installation may require additional work and charges. Any such remedial work will be invoiced accordingly.

8. Cancellation

If the customer cancels work after instructing us to purchase materials or begin work, Gasworks reserves the right to charge for time and materials incurred.

9. Guarantee

We provide a 12-month guarantee on all labour and honour manufacturers’ guarantees on supplied parts and equipment. Customers must notify us in writing within one month of completion for any remedial work.

Replacement parts under guarantee may incur labour charges. Repairs to leaks arising more than 30 days after installation will be covered only if the fault results from our workmanship.

10. Gas Pressure Requirements

Installed boilers require minimum inlet gas pressure as per manufacturer instructions. If pressure is inadequate, additional work and charges may apply to re-route or upgrade gas supply.

11. Scaffolding

If scaffolding or a tower is required and has not been included in the quotation, additional charges will apply. This also applies where a roofer or any other specialist tradesman is needed, or where heavy lifting equipment is required.

12. Amendments

These terms may only be amended in writing, signed by an authorised representative of Gasworks and the customer. Our terms prevail over any conflicting terms submitted by the customer.
